WAUSAU – High school students from central Wisconsin musical theater programs will perform on the Grand Theater stage in the first ever Jerry Ensemble Cabaret.

The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. March 12. Tickets are $15, or you can reserve a table of four for $60.

This performance group features select vocal performers from schools and organizations participating in the Jerry Awards program. Students are selected to be part of the ensemble through auditions and spend each season building their technical skills in acting, singing and dancing, and performing in Wausau and across the state.

This year’s Central Wisconsin Jerry Ensemble features 16 students from eight area high schools: Wausau East, Wausau West, D.C. Everest, Newman Catholic, Merrill, Marshfield, Stevens Point Area  and Northland Pines in Eagle River.

The inaugural Jerry Ensemble Cabaret will be seated cabaret-style on the stage of The Grand, where the audience will hear classic Broadway numbers from such musicals as “Mary Poppins,” “Miss Saigon” and “A Chorus Line,” as well as contemporary hits from “Waitress,” “Dear Evan Hansen” and “Bandstand.”

Tickets for the Jerry Ensemble Cabaret are available at The Grand’s ticket office in downtown Wausau, by phone at 715-842-0988 or at grandtheater.org
