TOWN OF PINE RIVER, Wis. — Police in Lincoln County are continuing their investigation into the fatal shooting of a 77-year-old woman in her town of Pine River home.
A Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department news release issued March 11 states there are no suspects in the case and police do not believe the community is in any danger.
Investigators were called at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 14 to a residence on Range Line Road, where they discovered Barbara Renken dead of an apparent gunshot wound.
Police say a second person who was shot inside the home, 78-year-old John Renken, was critically injured and has since died. Barbara and John Renken were husband and wife.
Police say the homicide investigation is ongoing. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Lab processed the scene.
