TOWN OF FRANKFORT, Wis. — One woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash Monday on Hwy. 97 in the town of Frankfort, according to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash was reported just before 6 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Hwy. 97 and CTH N. A woman who was driving one of the vehicles involved in the crash died, police said.
Investigators shut down all lanes of traffic on Hwy. 97 for about five hours after the crash, which remains under investigation.
The name of the victim is expected to be released Tuesday morning.
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Edgar Fire Department, and Frankfort First Responders responded to the scene.
