MINOCQUA, Wis. — A newly licensed certified nursing assistant is accused of sexually assaulting an elderly patient with dementia in Minocqua, according to a WJFW report.

Jacob Schlosser, 18, faces two counts of second degree sexual assault in Oneida County Circuit Court. The charges were filed March 21.

Police say Schlosser inappropriately touched the 80-year-old victim while the patient was bathing, according to the criminal complaint, obtained by WJFW. Schlosser through his clothing. An investigation began after a tipster notified the Minocqua Police Department.

When investigators interviewed Schlosser at his Arbor Vitae home, Schlosser allegedly told police he was giving the patient a bath when, “the resident got a little bit weird.”

Schlosser admitted to officers he was aware the resident “could not give consent… due to the patient’s extreme dementia,” according to court filings.

A police interview with the victim revealed the patient did not know what year it was, who the president is, or their own age.

According to the complaint and verified through online state records, Schlosser received his CNA license March 4, 2019. It is valid through March 31, 2021.

Schlosser faces up to 80 years in prison, if convicted. He is free on a $5,000 signature bond and is prohibited from working as a CNA until his case concludes.

He is no longer an employee at the facility where the alleged incident occurred.
