Marathon County volunteer opportunities: Week of March 25

RSVP Community Coffee at Faith in Action. You and your friends are invited to the RSVP Coffee hour on Tuesday, April 2 from 9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. at Faith in Action, 630 Adams St., Wausau. You will learn about how you can be a volunteer driver to get seniors to doctor appointments or the grocery store, or how to assist with the safety program that helps prevent falls. School day literacy volunteers. The Wausau School District has openings at elementary schools for volunteers to read to students. Contact Roxane if you can help for the remainder of the school year. Call 715-261-0584 or email rhagedor@wausauschools.org.

Personal shoppers and stockers. The Neighbors’ Place shoppers help answer client questions and assist with shopping. The ability to work with a diverse population, as well as the ability to organize, lift and carry lightweight items are required. Hmong and/or Spanish language aptitude is a plus but not required. Gift shop attendants. Help the Center for the Visual Arts welcome visitors at the CVA Gift Shop in Washington Square in Downtown Wausau. Greet patrons, assist with purchases and keep things in order. Contact 715-842-4545 or mmreinhardt@cvawausau.org.

Cleaning crew or individual. St. Vincent DePaul is seeking an individual or individuals who would assist in general janitorial maintenance around our store and processing area. These tasks would consist of sweeping, mopping, dusting, emptying trashcans and other tasks. Contact Kim at 715-298-3028 or kkuske@svdpwausau.org.

In-kind donated items needed

Office supplies needed. Cases of 20-pound white copy paper or other colored paper is very helpful to the Good News Project. The organization relies on it for mailings and other communications throughout the year. Contact Megan at megan@goodnewswi.com.

Bottled water. Catholic Charities is in need of bottled water to give to shelter residents. To donate, contact Tracy at 715-849-3311 or trieger@cclse.org.

Large print books. McLit of Marathon County shares magnified print books with those who have vision challenges. Contact Connie at 715-218-5324 or mclitofwausau@gmail.com.
