WAUSAU — The Reserve at Greenwood Hills celebrated the opening of its luxury retirement community on March 12 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Reserve at Greenwood Hills in Wausau is a resort-inspired golf course community for those 55 years old and older. The first 16-unit independent living apartment building is complete and offers maintenance-free living in what will feature an eventual 48 apartment homes, 16 two-bedroom villas and a separate assisted living facility.

“Our goal is to provide seniors in central Wisconsin with a different kind of living option,” said co-owner Mitch Viegut, in a Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce news release. “The Reserve at Greenwood Hills was designed to enhance the lives of our residents by offering apartments with every luxury of home, combined with an exceptional customer service experience. We are enriching the lives of our residents through a comprehensive social activity program and providing peace of mind through our A La Carte Resident Services that allow seniors to maintain their independence.”

The senior-friendly buildings are one story with underground parking. Amenities also include a restaurant-style dining room and bar, movie theater, library, wellness center, outdoor terrace, gardens and trails. Residents will also receive a social membership to the nearby Greenwood Hills Country Club.
