Krista Hoglund

MARSHFIELD – Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., has named Krista Hoglund chief actuary.

Hoglund is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a bachelor’s in applied mathematics. She has been with Security Health Plan since 2008, serving in multiple roles in the actuarial and business intelligence departments, most recently, director of actuarial and risk adjustment services. Hoglund has also served as the appointed actuary for Security Health Plan since 2016.

The Actuarial Department at Security Health Plan is responsible for pricing, forecasting financial performance and estimating claims payment.

“The Actuarial team plays a critical role in executing Security Health Plan’s strategic imperatives around quality and safety, service excellence, stewardship and smart growth,” Security Health Plan CEO Julie Brussow said in a news release. “Krista has built a track record of outstanding results. She has a terrific sense of leadership to help her guide a multi-disciplinary team of talent within the actuarial, underwriting and risk adjustment analytic services departments.”

Hoglund will oversee many areas within the Health Plan, including actuarial services, underwriting and risk adjustment revenue management analytics. She will guide the development and execution of the corporate strategic plan through data-driven solutions that improve the health of Security Health Plan members and lower the total cost of care.
