A 36-year-old Weston man is facing an array of felony charges after he secretly filmed a 16-year-old girl and watched them for his own sexual gratification, according to court documents.

Steven Miller appeared Thursday, April 4 in Marathon County Circuit Court, where he faces felony charges of possession of child pornography, child sexual exploitation, two counts of invasion of privacy using surveillance device with a victim younger than 18, three counts of capturing an intimate representation.

Police say Miller placed cameras in the bedroom and bathroom of the girl, who is the daughter of Miller’s girlfriend. Investigators seized flash drives and SD cards containing dozens of images of the girl undressing, using the bathroom and showering, according to court documents.

Miller’s face is allegedly seen in at least one of the videos, an image police say was captured while he was placing the device.

When questioned, Miller ultimately told investigators he watched the videos for sexual purposes, court documents state.

During an initial appearance Thursday, Circuit Judge LaMont Jacobson set a $25,000 cash bond for Miller and ordered Miller not to have any contact with children younger than 18. Miller is also prohibited from using any internet-capable devices or any device capable of making recordings.

Miller faces a maximum penalty of more than 82 years in prison if he is convicted on all charges filed against him.

A preliminary hearing is set for April 15.
