TOWN OF CRESCENT, Wis. — One person is dead and one person is hospitalized following an overnight rollover in Lincoln County, officials have confirmed.
The crash was reported at about 3 a.m. Sunday on Hwy. 17 near CTH D. Officials say the crash involved one vehicle that rolled over, ejecting both the driver and passenger.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The second person was transported to Ascension Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander. One third victim was treated at the scene. Police have not said what may have led to the crash.
A portion of Hwy. 17 between CTH B and CTH A was shut down for several hours while the crash scene was cleared, but the highway has since reopened.
No names or ages have been released and police have not specified the extent of the second victim’s injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
