The Wausau Symphony & Band invites the community to festivities at its ninth annual Picnic at the Pavilion concert.

This free concert is a family friendly event with food, raffle items and live music at 4 p.m. April 28 at the Rothschild Pavilion.

The Wausau Symphonic Band, under the direction of Dr. Patrick Lawrence, will perform a pops concert of film music. Selections will include familiar works by John Williams. The band also will perform Andrew Boysen Jr.’s “Star Crossed” as a live soundtrack to the original comic-style animated video.

The Wausau Symphony Orchestra will perform second, under the baton of Daniel Larson. The orchestra will feature works by American composers.

The Pizza Kiln will cater the event, providing pizza, treats and beverages for purchase. In addition, an item raffle will be held to help raise money for the season’s expenses. Freewill donations will also be accepted.
