Local symphony orchestra to hold auditions for string, flute and bassoon

STEVENS POINT — The Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra will hold auditions for its 65-member semi-professional orchestra in early May.

Auditions for string, flute and bassoon sections for its 2019-2020 concert season, as well as the CWSO/UWSP Scholarship String Quartet, will begin at 6 p.m. May 9 at the Noel Fine Arts Center of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point campus, room 250.

Candidates will play a short solo of his/her choice; the required excerpts listed in the news section of the CWSO website, cwso.org, and perform a sight-reading excerpt.
