The Marathon County Public Library will host several events in the coming weeks at its various libraries.


From April 22 through May 20, children and their families can walk along the scenic River Edge Trail in downtown Wausau and read the pages of two children’s books! Trail Tales will run between Kickbusch Plaza and Wausau on Water, WOW, restaurant. Offered by the Marathon County Public Library and the Marathon County Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department. Local history buffs won’t want to miss an event focused on the history of logging in central Wisconsin on April 22 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Mosinee Branch, 123 Main St., Mosinee. Marathon County Historical Society’s Gary Gisselman will talk about how logging became such an important part of central Wisconsin’s culture and economy. Free. For more info, call 715-693-2144.


Adults can learn how to access free e-books and audiobooks using their library card and their smartphone or tablet during a free class on April 22 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. All ages are invited to Wordstock, a three-day poetry event, happening April 22-24 at the Marathon County Public Library’s Marathon City Branch, 515 Washington St., Marathon City.
