Citing an ongoing investigation, Lincoln County Sheriff’s officials have declined to release a police report detailing an altercation Saturday at the state’s youth prison.

Police say one person was injured and one person was arrested Saturday after deputies responded to a report of a fight at Lincoln Hills School, in the town of Birch. A 911 call just after 2:30 p.m. alerted police to the incident, which involved numerous people in the visitor area. A 22-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman was injured in the melee and was transported to Ascension Good Samaritan Health Center for treatment. Police say her injuries were minor.

Lincoln County officials say a 47-year-old Racine woman was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct, but a search of court records do not show any official charges filed as of Monday afternoon. No names were released.

In response to an open records request, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Lt. Timothy Fischer declined to release the report at this time. Police officials routinely withhold such reports during an open investigation amid fears that information in the report could thwart investigative efforts.

The report is expected to be released when the investigation is complete and a final charging decision has been made.2019-04-22 Wausau Pilot and Review
