Merrill tops Everest softball in extra innings

Weston– Merrill softball got a home run from Hannah Losee in the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie and lead Merrill to a 4-3 victory over D.C. Everest on Tuesday.

Grace Steinagel’s two out two run double in the bottom of the 7th tied the game for the Evergreens at 3 as they entered the bottom of the 7th down 3-1.

Courtney Krueger picked up the win for Merrill as she scattered 7 hits, striking out 6 and walking 3.

Megan Wilde took the loss for Everest giving up 9 hits, striking out 8 and walking 3.

Losee was 3 for 4 with her home run and RBI for the Bluejays, Ally Semling was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s for Merrill.

Steinagel led Everest at the plate going 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles and drove in 2.
