Long ball lifts Everest over Marshfield

Weston– The D.C. Everest Evergreens got four runs in the fourth inning to break a 0-0 tie with Marshfield on Wednesday, then broke through for two more runs in the fifth to claim a 6-4 victory in Wisconsin Valley Conference play.

Megan Wilde picked up the win in the circle for the Evergreens, striking out seven and walking three.

Courtney Donahue, who struck out seven, suffered the loss for Marshfield.

Everest got home runs from Haley Larson and Sydney Uekert, respectively.  Jenna Jakobi and Taylor Barwick doubled for Marshfield; Haley Larson and Emma Bloemers doubled for Everest.

Larson’s home run was a solo shot. Uekert blast was of the three-run variety.
