Speed skaters compete in Wisconsin and Illinois

Wausau– Members of the Central Wisconsin Speed Skating Club recently competed in meets at the Greenheck  Field House in Schofield and then traveled to Illinois  for their  next competition.

In the “Future Stars” Division at the Greenheck Field House Jacob Moskowitz (5th), Ellyn Ender(7th), Alex Moskowitz(8th), Isabella VanNatta(9th), and Nicoline Moskowitz(10th)  completed all of their  races at various  distances.   Moving up to the advanced “Ice Rockets”  Division Aubrey  Puent and Parker Faust captured 9th and 10th places respectively. Traveling to Illinois for their  next event  Brian Puent and Aubrey  Puent skated to the 5th and 6th places in their respective divisions  at the annual “Northburke” competition.

On March 10th seven of the Central Wisconsin skaters traveled to Green Bay for the annual “Cheese Cup” meet.   In the young Cheese Curd Division, Alex Moskowitz and Nicoline Moskowitz finished 3rd and 8th respectively. Jacob Moskowitz finished 6th in the Cheddar Division and Damien Puent placed 7th in the Parmesan Group.  In the Mozzarella Division, Griffin Puent and Aubrey Puent finished 5th and 8th, respectively. All of these skaters were awarded Cheese Cup Medallions for their efforts, while Brian Puent took home a Cheese Cup Trophy for his 3rd place finish in the Aged Cheddar Group.
