IRON COUNTY — Police say an inmate at the Iron County Jail who was taken to a nearby hospital escaped into the woods, only to be captured about four minutes later.

According to a WJFW report, the man, who is from Illinois, was booked into the Iron County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct. He also had an outstanding felony warrant out of Illinois. Just before noon on Saturday, the man was taken to Aspirus Hospital in Ironwood, Mich., for what police describe as a medical issue.

An hour later the man, still in restraints, was on the run, WJFW reports. But a deputy apprehended the inmate just four minutes later, before additional units arrived on the scene.

Additional charges are expected to be filed against the man as early as today.
