WESTON – At least two people have been injured in a two-vehicle head-on crash Tuesday in Weston.

At 3:40 p.m. a helicopter was summoned to the crash site near the corner of Camp Phillips Road and Townline Road east of Wausau. No helicopters were immediately available but crews did secure assistance. As of 3:55 p.m. the helicopter was 12 minutes from the scene.

But the helicopter crew was called off before arrival. There’s no word yet on the fate of the victims or how many people were involved.

Initial reports suggest one person was ejected from a vehicle. One person, a female, was trapped inside a vehicle and needed extrication.

At least one victim is a teenager, Wausau Pilot and Review has learned.

Investigators from the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Everest Metro Police Department remained at the scene at 4:35 p.m. and a portion of CTH N, or Townline Road, is closed to traffic. The crash scene is just east of the intersection with CTH X, or Camp Phillips Road.
