Sawyer Berumen of Wausau has been named a lifetime member in The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the society announced in April.

Berumen was a 2018 honors graduate of Newman Catholic High School and is a chemistry major at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

“NSCS is … a distinction of honor,” said Stephen Loflin, NSCS founder, in a news release. “Our scholars are some of the best of the best, committing to academic excellence early in their collegiate journey.”

The Honor Society recognizes high-achieving first- and second-year collegiate students. It provides career and graduate school connections, leadership and service experience, practical and skills-based content, access to discounts and savings, scholarships and awards.
