Wausau– D.C. Everest pushed across a run in the eighth inning to pull out a 4-3 victory over Wausau West on Thursday.

Calista Fuehrer hit a one-out single that scored Haley Larson in the bottom of the 8th inning to give D.C. Everest the win.

The Evergreens had taken a 3-2 lead into the seventh inning on a two-run home run by Emma Bloemers, but the Warriors’ Robyn Kirsch hit a RBI ground out that scored the game-tying run in the 7th inning before Fuehrer’s heroics in the 8th.

Bloemers was 3-4 with two RBI, while Fuehrer and Haley Larson had two hits each for the Evergreens.
Megan Wilde was the winning pitcher scattering 4 Warrior hits over 8 innings while striking out 7. Abby Schilling suffered a tough luck loss for Wausau West as she struck out 13 Evergreens in defeat.
