HATLEY — There’s nothing like real maple syrup for your morning pancakes. But there’s so much more to this sweet sap than breakfast. Find out at “The History of the Wisconsin Maple Industry” at 6:30 p.m., May 13 at the Hatley Community Room, 435 Curtis Ave., Hatley.
The speaker is Theresa Baroun, a maple syrup producer at Maple Sweet Dairy in De Pere and the executive director of the Wisconsin Maple Syrup Producers Association. She has been making syrup since she was a child.
Baroun will talk about maple syrup history, along with a primer on how to make maple syrup, including tree identification, how to tap and how to determine when your product is ready.
This talk is free and open to the public. All donations are appreciated. Registration is not required.
