Pacelli sweeps doubles competition in win over Newman

Stevens Point– Pacelli swept the three doubles matches, one by default, on the way to a 6-1 win over Newman Catholic in a boys tennis dual at Goerke Field.

The top two doubles teams of Jasper Zhou/Ben Kroening and Andrew Psarski/Sam Basala did not drop a game in their respective victories for th Cardinals. Pacelli’s No. 3 singles player, Sam Lamotte, also did not drop a set in his win over Nick Thomas.

Charlie Shields had the lone win for Newman Catholic as he downed Isaac Kosobuck in straight sets at No. 2 singles. Shields won the opening set in a tiebreaker. Pa
