WAUSAU – Northcentral Technical College will host a three-part series focused on understanding and overcoming addiction as a community beginning in May.

The series, Overcoming Addiction Together, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 16, July 18 and Aug. 15 at NTC’s Wausau campus in the Center for Health Sciences Conference Center.

The series will focus on several aspects of overcoming addiction, including the science behind addiction, boosting skills and learning about resources to overcome trauma and addiction, and caring for oneself while caring for those who are challenged with substance use disorders.

The series is presented by the Northcentral and Northern Highland Wisconsin Area Health Education Centers.

The series is open to healthcare, public health and behavioral health professionals, recovery coaches, social workers, educators, law enforcement/safety/courtroom professionals, students, concerned loved-ones and community members.

Registration is $20 per session or $50 for all three sessions. Students and recovery coaches can attend part or all of the sessions free of charge.
