Everest strengthens resume with win over Madison West

Weston — D.C. Everest picked up a quality win Friday at its own tournament, defeating Madison West 3-1 behind scores from three different players.

Junior forward Sarah Lorge scored off an assist by junior midfielder Alanna Schneck in the 11th minute, but West tied the score in the 21st minute.

Everest got an unassisted second-half goal in the 64th from sophomore midfielder Brenna Raasch to make it 2-1. Everest’s final goal was scored by junior forward Maddie Simpson after an assist from junior midfielder Lily Kowal.

Sonja Budleski recorded five saves for Everest, which is now 13-1-1 overall.  Madison West falls to 5-4-2 overall.

Everest will play Appleton North at 3:15 Saturday.
