Crews from multiple departments and the Department of Natural Resources are battling a significant wildfire Tuesday that has already consumed nearly 40 acres, according to the DNR.

The “Hahn” fire, located west of Hwy. 51 near Blue Lake Road, is threatening area structures and some homes have been evacuated, officials said. Blue Lake Road is near CTH Y in Oneida County.

According to the DNR, the Hahn fire is one of six wildfires Tuesday statewide. A blaze in Rusk County has also consumed 15 acres so far, with smaller fires in Bayfield, Langlade, Taylor and Vilas Counties, according to the most recent DNR wildfire map.

The origin of the Minocqua-area fire has not yet been determined.

State officials say fire danger remains very high for a large swath of the state including Marathon, Lincoln, Langlade and Oneida Counties.

Burning restrictions, current fire danger levels and fire activity are available on the DNR’s website.
