MARION, Wis. — A camper and storage shed were destroyed in an explosion Thursday at a Marion campground, according to police.
Crews from Marion and Clintonville were called at 2:45 p.m. May 15 to Farmer Gene’s Campground, N11301 Kinney Lake Rd, Marion, for a report of an explosion, officials said. By the time firefighters arrived on scene, the camper was engulfed in flames and a nearby shed had also caught fire.
Marion is about 20 miles southeast of Wittenberg off Hwy. 45.
The blaze quickly spread to a nearby fence and neighboring trees before being knocked down, according to a report in the Waupaca County Post.
Foul play is not suspected, according to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department, but the cause of the blaze has not yet been pinpointed.
No injuries were reported.
