WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW

A 73-year-old Rhinelander man died Monday after he was discovered unresopnsive near a capsized boat in Jennie Webber Lake, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department.

Emergency crews were called at about 7 p.m. to the lake, which lies about halfway between Rhinelander and Sugar Camp in Oneida County, for a report of a capsized boat. First responders, with the aid of citizens, retrieved the man from the water.

Crews then transported the man from the lake to a Rhinelander hospital, where he later died.

Oneida County Sheriff’s officials have identified the man as Thomas Lambert.

The Oneida County Dive Team was also called to the scene, but they did not enter the lake. The Sugar Camp Fire Department’s watercraft was also called to the scene.
