Wausau– The SPASH Panthers earned at least a share of the Wisconsin Valley Conference baseball title with a 4-1 win over Wausau West on Tuesday.

Reece Gaber threw three innings to pick up the win for the Panthers.  Gaber struck out four and allowed just two hits.

Mitchell Zahurones took the loss for West, though he did strike out 10 batters.

Brett Ehr doubled for SPASH and Ty Becker hit a double for West.

“Once again our pitching was really good other than three straight walks in the fifth,” said SPASH coach Kraig Terpstra. “We had some key at at bats in the seventh to regain the lead.

“I am really proud of this group for securing at least a share of the conference title.  They are very deserving. It is a deep, talented group who is really competing hard to achieve some lofty goals.”
