WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW

City officials are extending hours for Wausau’s yard waste site, after high winds downed multiple trees throughout the area.

Although city crews are clearing and removing debris from boulevards and public areas, trees damaged on private property are the owner’s responsibility, according to a news release issued Wednesday. Curbside pickup of debris is not available.

Wausau’s yard waste site will be open daily until at least Wednesday, May 29, city officials said. The site is typically closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The yard waste site is located at the east end of Chellis Street and is open to Wausau residents only. Proof of residency is required.
