Wausau West baseball falls to SPASH

Stevens Point -Logan Schulfer and Dylan Davis allowed a combined four hits as the Stevens Point Area Senior High baseball team earned the outright Wsconsin Valley Conference title with a 7-2 win over Wausau West on Thursday.

Schulfer struck out eight in five innings to get the win and Davis closed out the game.

Tristan Aldrich, Dayne Hoyord, Austin Beyer and Jack Kelly all had two hits for the Panthers, who improved to 19-4 overall and 11-1 in the WVC.

SPASH trailed 2-0 in the third but scored a run in the bottom half of the inning and took the lead with three runs in the fourth. The Panthers then tacked on a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth.

Mitch Zahurones doubled for the Warriors. Cole Osness took the loss for the Warriors.
