Howard Moore, a University of Wisconsin men’s basketball assistant coach, was injured early Saturday in a multi-vehicle crash that left three people dead including Moore’s wife and daughter, authorities said.

The crash, which involved three vehicles, happened just after 2 a.m. Saturday on Hwy. M-14 north of Ann Arbor, Mich. Police say a wrong-way driver, a 23-year-old woman from Ann Arbor, was heading west in the eastbound lanes of M-14 when she struck the Moores’ vehicle head-on.

The 23-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Moore’s daughter, Jaidyn, was also pronounced deceased at the scene.

Four others were flown to the University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor for treatment, police said. Moore’s wife, Jennifer, who was driving their car and was not at fault, in the crash was taken off of life support and died Saturday afternoon.

Moore was seriously injured, while his son Jerell escaped with minor injuries.

None of the other crash victims have been named. Police say at least one victim remained in critical condition early Sunday.

The crash remains under investigation.
