Members of the Wausau School Board this week are personally thanking teachers and support staff this week, hand-delivering cookie trays and fruit to every school in the district.
All nine school board members signed cards accompanying the platters, which are being delivered throughout the week. Sites visited Tuesday through Thursday will include all schools along with the Wausau School Forest, the youth detention center and the district’s maintenance and operations building.
School Board President Tricia Zunker said teachers did receive a small gift from the board and administration during Teacher Appreciation Week but this effort is a more personalized way to recognize efforts of teachers and staff.
“We are grateful to each and every person in our buildings for their work inspiring and supporting our students this year,” Zunker said.
