WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW

A 51-year-old motorcycle driver was killed Saturday after veering off the road in Three Lakes, police said.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call at about 7:30 p.m. notifying them of the crash, which happened on Hwy. X near the intersection of Shackleford Road.

The man driving the motorcycle, who was the sole rider involved in the crash, died at the scene.

A preliminary investigation suggests the driver was traveling north on Hwy. X when he missed a curve and his motorcycle left the roadway, police said.

The name of the driver is being withheld pending family notification.
