Marathon County volunteer opportunities: Week of June 24

July 4 Celebration Help, You are invited to be a part of set-up, and/or clean-up at the Mosinee Fourth of July Event. Course guides also needed for the 5K race. Contact Terra at 715-693-4330 or events@mosineechamber.org.

Help People in Transition. The Open Door of Marathon County is in need of volunteers to help recently released inmates, who are in need of proper seasonal clothing, footwear and toiletries. Those in need may also receive help finding agencies providing aid with housing, food and job searching. Contact Anne at 715-848-4044 or at opendoor319@gmail.com.

Give Rides to Seniors. Faith in Action helps those in need receive rides to medical appointments or the grocery store. If you enjoy spending time with older people and can give a few hours a month, call Jamie at 715-848-8783 or email wausaufiainfo@gmail.com.

Aspirus Hospice Patient/Family Support (Home Care). Volunteers provide emotional support to patients and their families as they give respite to caregivers as they read, walk or sit with patients. Contact Samantha at 715-847-2424 or Samantha.Giese@aspirus.org

Personal Shoppers and Stockers. The Neighbors’ Place shoppers help answer client questions and assist with shopping. The ability to work with a diverse population as well as the ability to organize, lift and carry lightweight items are required. Hmong and/or Spanish language aptitude is a plus but not required. In-Kind Donated Items Needed

Craft Donations. The Children’s Hospital Of Wisconsin Community Services is in need of any craft activity donations as well as sand, flour, baby oil and plastic containers or Ziploc sandwich bags for homemade slime and moon sand activities. Call Emily at 715-848-1457 or email enowicki@chw.org.

Copies, Copies and More Copies. Habitat for Humanity of Wausau is looking for donated copy paper for their office needs. Call Kim at 715-848-5042 or email office@habitatwausau.org.

Garden Supplies. Donated garden tools, supplies, bins, barrels, lumber for raised bed construction, etc. are appreciated for Gaining Ground Gardens, which supports therapeutic horticulture programs for current and former jail inmates and their families.
