WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW

The Badger State Games’ Summer Games are celebrating 35 years of bringing Olympic-style sporting events to Wisconsin, allowing athletes of all ages and abilities to “Go for the Gold.”

Custom spinning medals in Gold, Silver, and Bronze are new this year to commemorate our 35th Anniversary. Those who metal, are then eligible to compete in the State Games of America taking place in Lynchburg, VA. Here are the Badger State Games (BSG) events happening this weekend.

BMX Series Racing

The fourth qualifying race in this series of seven as BMX Series Racing visits Rhinelander at Hodag BMX. The Badger State Games BMX Series 2019 takes us around Wisconsin with USA BMX clubs from DeForest, Elkhorn, Fond Du Lac, Oshkosh, Rhinelander, and Wisconsin Rapids. The series began in Elkhorn on February 10th and concludes with the Championship in DeForest on October 5th. On-site registration is available. More details available at www.visitwausau.com/bmx.

Racing Begins:  7:00 pm

Golf

Golf enthusiasts will gather at the Trapp River Golf Course play for top honors. For youth, this event includes contests in putting, driving, and chipping as well as 9 holes of golf. Adults will skip past the contests and play a full 18 holes. This will be the first year BSG Golf has been held at Trapp River. Registration is closed.
