Marathon County Public Library programs: Week of June 30

The Marathon County Public Library will host several events in the coming days at its various libraries.


Kids can visit the library to create their own aliens using cardboard tubes and other craft supplies from July 1-12 at the Spencer Branch, 105 S. Park St., Spencer. Drop in any time the branch is open to participate. Free. For more info, call 715-659-3996.

Using construction paper and other craft supplies, kids can make their own paper rocket ship from July 1-5 at the Mosinee Branch, 123 Main St., Mosinee. Stop in any time the branch is open to participate. Free, with all supplies provided. Call 715-693-2144 for more info.


Kids can blast their imaginations off into space by making a paper rocket ship from July 1-5 at the Stratford Branch, 213201 Scholar St., Stratford. Drop in any time the branch is open to participate. Free, with all supplies provided. Call 715-687-4420 for more info.


Children are invited to make their own paper rocket ships using construction paper and other supplies from July 1-6 at the Rothschild Branch, 211 Grand Ave., Rothschild. Kids can attend a summer craft day at the Edgar Branch, 224 S. Third Ave., Edgar, on July 1 from 1-7 p.m.! A different craft project will be offered each Monday throughout the summer. Free. For more info, call 715-352-3155.


Kids, tweens and teens can be “Mission Control” and pretend to be planetary rovers on July 1 from 3-4 p.m. at the Mosinee Branch, 123 Main St., Mosinee. In teams, one person will guide the other in blindly traversing a set navigation route, then will swap roles! Free, with registration required. To register, call 715-693-2144.


Kids and families can play and build with LEGO blocks on July 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mosinee Branch, 123 Main St., Mosinee. Free and open to the public. For more information, call 715-693-2144.


Kids can practice and improve their literary skills by reading to a well-behaved therapy dog, provided by Therapy Dogs of Central Wisconsin, on July 2 from 6-7 p.m. at the Rothschild Branch, 211 Grand Ave., Rothschild. Free, with no registration required. For more info, call 715-359-6208.


Kids of all ages can get into the spirit of Independence Day with a fun (and slightly messy) art project on July 3 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Mosinee Branch, 123 Main St., Mosinee. Free, with all supplies provided. For more info, call 715-693-2144.

Celebrate the upcoming July 4 holiday with a special story time comprised of patriotic songs, stories and a craft on July 3 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Hatley Branch, 435 Curtis Ave., Hatley. Free. For more info, call 715-446-3537.


Kids and families can stop in to the library for a LEGO Block Party on July 5 from 1-3 p.m. at the Marathon City Branch, 515 Washington St., Marathon City. Families can spend part of their Saturday morning coloring on July 6 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Hatley Branch, 435 Curtis Ave., Hatley!
