WAUSAU — ChalkFest returns to the 400 Block of downtown Wausau on July 13 and 14.

Artists of all ages embellish the sidewalk and children’s area in a multitude of colors and designs. Spectators are invited to view the works of art as they are being created.

Featured artist Emily Voss will create her chalkwork at the center medallion and the 2018 ChalkFest winners will create theirs on the main stage.

Artists younger than 12 are encouraged to join in the fun with their own artwork at the Children’s ChalkFest Area open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 13 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 14. No advance registration is required for this area.

Free Sidewalk Drawing Clinics for first-time participants taught by artist Mort McBain will be held at 1 p.m and 3 p.m. July 10 on the sidewalk outside the Center for Visual Arts in downtown Wausau on July 10. Advance Chalk Technique Class will be held at 5 p.m. July 9. Learn more about these classes and how to sign up via the event’s Facebook
page.

ChalkFest also offers food and music. More information about the event is available at the ChalkFest Wausau Facebook page or at wausauevents.org/chalkfest.
