A major police presence Wednesday on Wausau’s east side is related to a drive-by shooting, police said Thursday.

A vehicle matching the description of the one used in the shooting was discovered in the area of North Sixth Street and Chicago Avenue, police said. Several persons of interest were located at a nearby residence and were interviewed by police.

Witnesses tell Wausau Pilot &Review they saw one person being chased and a second man being tased by police during the incident, which resulted in a portion of the road being closed to traffic Wednesday.

Information on related arrests is being withheld pending further investigation, according to police.
