WAUSAU — Melissa Piette, districtwide assistive and instructional technology integration specialist, recently received a Resolution of Commendation by the Board of Education for being named an Apple Distinguished Educator – Class of 2019 – by Apple.
Piette is one of only three in Wisconsin to receive this distinction and joins 550 other educators from around the world in the Class of 2019, according to the Wausau School District.
“Melissa Piette has been a highly distinguished educator in the Wausau School District for many years,” said Jon Euting, director of technology and media services. “Her passion for meeting the needs of all learners, with all available tools, opened previously closed doors to learning, while empowering staff to be innovative in the delivery of instruction.”
“Apple’s recognition of Melissa as an ‘Apple Distinguished Educator’ is evidence of her ability to innovate, create and transform instruction for all. It is also confirmation of what the Wausau School District has witnessed for many years, a distinguished educator who cares passionately about learners and staff members.”
Euting nominated Piette for the recognition.
