STEVENS POINT — SentryWorld and Special Olympics Wisconsin will host the second annual Golf and Pickleball Classic on Sept. 10 at SentryWorld in Stevens Point.

More than 150 golfers and pickleball players from Wisconsin are expected to participate in this event for all ability levels.

Pickleball competition begins at 9 a.m. with warm-ups and a clinic followed by first flights at 10 a.m. Participants can compete in beginners, intermediate and advanced men’s, women’s or mixed doubles divisions. Single players are also invited to register. Golfers can check in beginning at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. All participants will end the day with dinner, prizes and a brief program.

“For over 50 years Special Olympics has given individuals with intellectual disabilities opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy while participating in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families,” said Kathleen Roach, president and CEO of Special Olympics Wisconsin. “We’re thrilled to host this wonderful event for our prospective donors … . It’s … a great way to show support for our Special Olympics athletes.”
