TOWN OF BIRCH, Wis. — An elderly man is injured after falling an estimated 16 feet from a tree stand, police said.
The incident happened Sunday evening in the woods off CTH K in the Lincoln County town of Birch. The man was removed from the woods by paramedics from the Merrill Fire Department and brought out to CTH K, where deputies had closed the road to allow a Medevac helicopter access to the area.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was flown to a trauma center. His current condition has not been specified.
CTH K was closed for just under an hour during the rescue operation.
