WAUSAU — Residents in Wausau can dispose of their large, unwanted items next weekend during the city’s next Clean it Up, Wausau event, according to the city’s newsletter.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27.

The city will accept sofas, mattresses, box springs, tables, toilets, hot tubs, and scrap metal. Appliances, electronics and tires are not accepted.

Clean It Up Wausau, spearheaded by the city’s Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) committee, is a partnership with local nonprofit organizations. Items can be dropped off at 105 E. Chellis St., near the city’s yard waste site. Participants should follow the signs and be prepared to show proof of city of Wausau residency. Anyone with questions should call Public Works at 715-261-6960.
