A 32-year-old registered sex offender was released this week in Wausau and is on supervision at a transitional living facility, according to police.

Paul Kaseno was convicted in 2009 of first degree sexual assault of a child and second degree sexual assault of a child. Court records show Kaseno was initially given a suspended sentence and probation, but was sent to prison when his probation was revoked. He served 10 years in prison before being released July 22.

Kaseno will be monitored by sex offender agent specialists and will be subject to GPS monitoring. He will be living in transitional housing near the Marathon County Courthouse and will be on a highly restricted schedule with time out in the community for work and treatment, police said. Current state law requires sex offenders to be released into the county in which they were convicted.

Kaseno will be on supervision until 2031.

His ongoing status will be updated and available online through the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry at www.widocoffenders.org.
