TOWN OF BRADLEY, Wis. — A 26-year-old Illinois man was seriously injured Friday in a jet ski crash on Lake Nokomis, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department.

Just before 1 p.m. Aug. 2 a 911 caller reported the crash in the Lincoln County town of Bradley. Police say the jet ski driver lost control of his watercraft in the wake of a boat and collided with a second jet ski. The victim was found floating face down in the water after the crash, according to a news release.

Witnesses were able to remove the victim from the water and bring him to shore. There, paramedics treated him before he was brought to a nearby landing zone which was established by the Tomahawk and Nokomis Fire Departments. He was flown to Aspirus Wausau Hospital for treatment.

The man’s name and current condition were not immediately released. Police say alcohol was not involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.
