Marathon County Public Library programs: Week of Aug. 4

All ages can learn about writing autobiographies and memoirs during an event on Aug. 5 from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Marathon City Branch, 515 Washington St., Marathon City. Attendees are encouraged to have a story or memory to write about at the event. Free. For more information, call 715-443-2775.

Kids can visit the library to create their own aliens using cardboard tubes and other craft supplies from Aug. 5-9 at the Stratford Branch, 213201 Scholar St., Stratford. Drop in any time the branch is open to participate. Free. For more info, call 715-687-4420.

From Aug. 5-9, kids can make their own constellation-themed sensory bag at the Spencer Branch, 105 S. Park St., Spencer. Fill your squishy sensory bag with stars and shapes that you can knead to form different constellations. Free, with all supplies provided. Call 715-659-3996 for more info.


Teens interested in volunteering, socializing with other teens and planning library programs can join the Teen Advisory Group at the Marathon County Public Library! Get out and have some fun in the sun! Children and their families can enjoy a free pool day by showing their Marathon County Public Library card at Wausau’s outdoor pools and Marathon Park Splash Pad on Aug. 6 from 1-7:45 p.m. Only one library card is needed to admit the whole family.
