Beulah Mae “Geri” Treu
Beulah Mae “Geri” Treu, 92, of Freeport, Illinois, formerly of Wausau, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Illinois.
She was born on April 26, 1927 in Wausau, Wisconsin, the daughter of Elgard and Ruth (Sanders) Ristow. Beulah married Thomas John Treu in September 26, 1949 in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Beulah graduated from Wausau High School in 1945 and was a secretary at Curtis Companies of Wausau before her marriage. In addition to being a homemaker and mother, Beulah used her creativity as a designer and creator of dance costumes for local Wausau dance studios, and for sewing spectacular Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. During retirement she and her husband devoted many hours to leading sing-alongs at nursing homes in the Wausau area, with Tom playing accordion and Beulah singing. Beulah also used her seamstress talents to make quilts for family members, and items for the Veterans home and for cancer patients as part of the VFW Auxiliary. She loved dancing and going on trips with her husband and making period costumes for them to wear when attending Tom’s antique car club. Beulah’s curiosity about life and keen sense of humor were present to the end. She was an exceptional person who will be truly missed.
Survivors include her three children, Steven John (Linda) Treu of Fort Worth, TX, Barry Wayne Treu of Freeport, IL, and Debora Lynne Treu of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Jarret (Jennifer) Treu, Shana Renz, and Priyaa Treu; and great-grandchildren, Landon, Lydia and Natalie.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Restlawn Memorial Chapel, 4710 North Troy St., Wausau, with Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers of First Presbyterian Church of Wausau officiating. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the chapel. Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Chapel Mausoleum.

MaryAnn Townsend
MaryAnn Townsend, 75, of Rothschild, passed away on August 6, 2019 at her home.
MaryAnn was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on April 21, 1944 to the late James and Beatrice (Cronce) Schider. She worked as an administrative assistant for St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, and then for Wesley United Methodist Church.
Watching crime shows on television, traveling, Elvis Presley, playing cards and going to the casino were some of the things that MaryAnn enjoyed. She especially enjoyed her flower gardens and her collection of butterflies’. But most important to her, were her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were what truly made her happy.
MaryAnn is survived by her children, Scott (Jessica) Gouza, Tania (Eric) Schwarze, and Michele (Michael) O’Donnel; grandchildren, Michael, Jonathon, Megan, Brianna, Jacob, Amelia, Caitlin, Landen, Keegan and Madelynn; great-grandchildren, Elaina, Mike and Delilah; as well as her niece and nephew, Angie and Brian Schider.
In addition to her parents, MaryAnn was preceded in death by her brother James Schider.

Michael W. Chrudimsky, 65, of Merrill, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 of natural causes while he was an inpatient at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Mike was born November 21, 1953 in Antigo son of the late George and Geraldine (Guth) Chrudimsky. He married Jeanne Schramke on May 14, 1983 in Antigo. She survives. Mike was the owner/operator of ‘Mike’s Barber Shop’ in Merrill. He enjoyed antiquing, coin collecting, and spending time with his family and grandsons. Mike was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Chrudimsky, Merrill; his son Christopher (Jennifer) Chrudimsky, Merrill; three grandsons, Gus, Henry, and Max Chrudimsky, all of Merrill; four sisters, Mary (John) Schmoll, Antigo, Jane (Jerome) Keen, Aniwa, and Betty (Tim) Gervais and Rose Chrudimsky, all of Antigo; five brothers, George (Kathy) Chrudimsky, Aniwa, David (Joanne) Chrudimsky, Antigo, Robert (Kathy) Chrudimsky, Aniwa, Eugene (Karen) Chrudimsky, Antigo, and Randy Chrudimsky, Aniwa; and a sister in law, Jeanette Chrudimsky, Matoon. Besides his parents, Mike is preceded in death by one brother, John Chrudimsky.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 17, 2019 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. Father Chris Kemp will preside. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.

George Larzelere
George E. Larzelere, 88 of Birnamwood, died on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital, Antigo.
He was born on November 29, 1930 in the town of Langlade, the son of the late Clyde and Bernadine (Gilray) Larzelere.
George was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War and was a member of the Bloecher-Johnson American Legion Post #502, Wittenberg where he was a past commander.
On June 11, 1955, George was united in marriage to Jeanette DeBraske in Green Bay. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2009.
George was a tool & die maker and was formerly employed at Mercury Marine, Cedarburg and Tecumseh of Sheboygan Falls. After retirement, George moved to Wittenberg where he spent his days at Maple Hills Golf Course, where he would bartend and check customers in for golf. He loved golfing and visiting with people. George was always in the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, often time taking fishing trips to Canada and Minnesota. George was also a master gardener always tending to his flower beds. His specialty was growing beautiful roses. He loved to eat and was a pretty good cook and was famous for his vegetable slop. You would often find George with the heat on in the summer while wearing a sweatshirt because he was always cold.
George was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg often serving as an elder. He enjoyed his weekly bible study at church and his time at the aquatic center where he would participate in water aerobics daily.
George is survived by two children, Paul (Sandi Senger) Larzelere of Wittenberg and Tess (Kerry) Brown of Racine; grandchildren, Benjamin (Ellie) Carroll, Nathan (Holly Gertz) Carroll and Abigail (Geoffrey Foulk) Artig; great-grandchildren Isla and Esme Carroll; siblings Ruth Beversdorf of Wittenberg and Donna Schraufnagel of Cudahy; sisters-in-law Blanche Larzelere of Manitowoc and Monica Wixtead of Florida and a special friend, Verna Emmel of Wittenberg.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Jeanette and siblings Harry, Herb and Mary Zillman.
A Funeral service will be held at 11am, Saturday, August 17, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg with military rites conducted by the Bloecher-Johnson American Legion Post #502. Rev. Matthew Christians will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of service at the church. Sharon R. Cherek
Sharon R. Cherek, 83, of Bevent, died on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Sharon was born on August 23, 1935, in Wausau. The son of the late Raymond and LaVerne (Malchowski) Cherek.
On May 31, 1958, Sharon was united in marriage to Terenia Gorski at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. She survives.
Sharon was a United States Army veteran serving from 1957 to 1962 and was a member of the Hatley American Legion Post #471. He worked as a quality control inspector at JI Case retiring in 1992. He was a member of The Lion’s Club for over 45 years and was a charter member of the Bevent club. Sharon was district governor from 1994 to 1995 and held numerous offices and was manager of the Eyeglass Recycling Center in Rosholt for 19 years.
He was an active member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church and its Men’s Society. Sharon was a member of Breske’s Trap Club for over 25 years. He bowled on multiple leagues at Wittenberg Bowling Center and Dale’s Weston Lanes. Sharon started accordion lessons at the age of eight and played in several polka bands including The Royal Tones and Polish Pride. He loved to play sheepshead, poker, cribbage and pinochle. Sharon was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He loved camping, boating and spending time with his family and friends.
Sharon is survived by his wife, Terenia; two daughters, Lynn (Chris) Leslie of Bevent and Denise (Wayne) Akavickas of Wausau; four grandchildren, Marie Leslie of Bevent, Christopher Leslie of Middleton, Meagan (Blake) Weber of Merrill and Hayley (Tucker) Shaw of Wausau and one great granddaughter, the light of his life, his “Little Princess” Emryn Weber.
Sharon was preceded in death by his parents and mother and father-in-law, Theodore and Delphine Gorski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 12, 2019 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. Father Augustine Bentil will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the Hatley American Legion Post #471 and the Elderon Memorial Post #8068, VFW. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau at 2:30 PM on Monday. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM with a rosary recited at 6:30pm and will continue on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass all at the church.
