BOULDER JUNCTION, Wis. — A single vehicle crash early Sunday in the parking lot of Gooch’s A-1 Bar and Grill sparked a fire that ultimately destroyed the Boulder Junction restaurant, according to a WJFW report.
Crews were called at about 4:20 a.m. for a report of a structure fire at Gooch’s, 6215 Hwy. M, according to the report. Authorities say a vehicle in the parking lot crashed into a light pole, causing the vehicle to catch fire. The flames then spread to the bar.
A Pine Lake Fire Rescue Facebook post states that excavators at the scene were forced to knock down the building’s exterior walls and roof to fully extinguish the blaze.
No one was injured. There’s no word on whether any charges were filed against the driver of the vehicle.
The building is a total loss.
