One person is dead after a Price County boat crash that happened Friday on the Crowley Flowage portion of the North Fork Flambeau, according to a news release.

Police say two people were in a boat when the watercraft struck a submerged object, throwing both occupants.

A 58-year-old Franklin woman, assisted by bystanders, survived the crash. But a second person in the boat, a 59-year-old Franklin man who was not wearing a flotation device, went missing after the crash. A drone was used in the recovery effort, and the man’s body was later recovered from the water, police said.

Names are being withheld pending notification of relatives.
