WAUSAU — The third annual Jay’s Ride, a charity fundraiser in honor of Detective Jason Weiland, who was killed in the line of duty in March 2017, will be held Sept. 14.

All proceeds will go to one of two charitable causes: the Weiland Criminal Justice Scholarship at North Central Technical College, part of the NTC Foundation, and Crossroads K9s for Cops, a local nonprofit that trains police dogs.

The mission of Jay’s Ride is to support the local community through its support of law enforcement. In the first two years of the event, the fundraiser donated nearly $20,000 to law enforcement-related charities.
