Oneida County officials say one person is dead and one person is in custody in connection with a motorcycle crash That happened late Wednesday north of Rhinelander.

The victim has been identified as Sean Holtslander, 23, of St. Germain.

At about 10:23 p.m. Aug. 28, a 911 caller reported a motorcycle lying in the roadway on Hwy. 17 north. The caller reported that the motorcycle driver was not breathing.

Holtslander was pronounced dead when rescue crews arrived at the scene, which is now being described as a hit-and-run crash, according to an official release.

Though the investigation is still ongoing, Jeffrey Liebscher, 53, of Sugar Camp, Has been arrested on preliminary charges of hit and run causing death as well as homicide by negligent use of a motor vehicle.

He is being held in the Oneida County Jail with an initial appearance set for Friday afternoon in Rhinelander, officials said.
